Types of Massage offered at A Healthy Place Massage Therapy
A massage is as unique as the person receiving the massage. There are several definitions that you may have heard about. Scroll down to find out what some of these terms mean.
Swedish: Basic Relaxation massage.
Deep Tissue: Just like it sounds. This doesn’t mean hard or painful!
Pregnancy: Specific to the needs of the pregnant woman during gestational development.
Sports: Aids in the prevention of and the treatment of sports related injuries.
Medical: Used in the treatment of accidents or other medically related ailments.
Oncology: Tailored to the needs of persons who are either currently undergoing cancer treatments (including chemotherapy and/or radiation) or the cancer survivor.
Reflexology: The use of reflexive points in the hands and/or feet to affect other parts of the body.
Chair Massage: Usually performed in a special chair designed for massage. GREAT for head, neck, shoulder and back massage. Good for somebody who is new to receiving massage, only has a brief time to get a massage, corporate/specialty events or clients who cannot tolerate a table massage. Can also be performed with client in wheelchair if needed.
Hydrotherapy: The use of heat or cold before, during or after a massage.
Paraffin Treatment: The use of paraffin as a method of warming up your hands, or feet. A favorite of persons suffering from arthritis in their hands or feet.
Relaxation: We think this one is pretty self-explanatory. This is a nice get away from the hassles and responsibilities of the job, family or just life in general, if only for an hour or so. Don’t you deserve to treat yourself?
